20th Anniversary of the 1985 New England Patriots
Dave & Busters / Providence, RI - November 19th, 2005 |
-The New England Patriots of 1985 was a team made up of veteran players with inspiration and first year players with aspirations. This collection of 49 strong, led by Hall of Fame receiver/head coach Raymond Berry, became the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive post season contests on the road, ending with their 31-14 win over the Miami Dolphins. The 'Squish the Fish' victory gave the Patriots thier first AFC Conference Championship. Although their great run ended without an NFL title at Super Bowl XX, the memories left during the 1985 season were forever etched in the minds of New England fans everywhere.
Now 20 years later we paid tribute to that team, which thrilled us on so many weekends for one unforgettable season on what was an unforgettable evening. |
